5 out of 5 stars Good Price. Good sound. What else could you ask for.   June 26, 2009

After the successful installation, the product works great. I chose to go with this type versus an iPod dock just for the flexibility to use any mp3 player. The only issue was during the installation. The maker, PIE has a leaflet style installation sheet. It says:

"For radios with 'BAND' button, jumper must be in 'XM' position"

My 2004 Venture has a 'BAND' button. Problem solved. Not so fast. The rest of the instructions say:

"for radios WITHOUT 'BAND' button, jumper must be in 'CHANGER' position(Uses CD/AUX button to access changer mode or Aux-input)"

Well, this is a bit confusing because my factory radio clearly has a BAND button AND a CD/AUX button. My gut told me to choose CHANGER, but I didn't listen and instead re-crimped the connector. Still didn't work. As I mentioned, my 2004 Venture radio has a rocker style button with BAND on one side and CD/AUX on the other. If you have this style factory radio, choose the "CHANGER" position and you'll be all set. Oh yeah...if you have a gut feeling about something, don't do like I did...listen to it.

5 out of 5 stars Good sound. Basic Installation.   June 22, 2010

Very good way to add an AUX Input to your stock stereo. This product is for people who want to stay with the stock stereo - perhaps because of the steering wheel controls or other options.

Installation was pretty easy. Tapping into a 12V source was the trickiest part.

Works great with my 2005 Silverado. Sound is good. Highly recommended.

So a web search to find plenty of installation tips from people who have used the product.

5 out of 5 stars Works great!   November 4, 2009

I have had it for about and year and still use it every day. Great for anyone who has an iPhone or iPod and is tired of the static you get from an FM-modulator.

5 out of 5 stars Works fine   June 13, 2010

I installed this adapter on a 2005 Trailblazer. The install was easy for anyone with basic mechanical and wiring skills. I connected an adapter cable to the RCA plugs and ran it concealed to the console. The only thing showing is the male plug that connects to the MP3 player. The "Band" button changes to the auxiliary input. I can now play my MP3 player directly through the vehicle radio. As another reviewer noted, I do have to turn the MP3 player output all the way up, but that is not unexpected. This is an auxiliary input adapter, not a pre-amp. MP3 players are designed to push tiny speakers - they do not have a lot of power. Regardless, the unit works fine and it does not seem to distort the sound to have the player at full volume. The radio volume is higher than I normally use for an over-the-air station or CD, but it is not at full volume. In summary, this unit works as advertised for the intended purpose. I am happy with it.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   June 28, 2010

Installed in a 2003 Tahoe. Used a wire tap for the power and gound that was already going into the stereo and worked great. Some sites said not to hook it up that way but its been working great for me for a few weeks. Install time about 20 minutes for me. Pick up the wire taps from radio shack...I think they were the blue ones.
